Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

Wish I had one:
“How come she won't kiss me?”

Hey Terra,

I have a slight problem. I just got out of a year relationship and have met an awesome girl only a month after my previous relationship. I have gone out with the girl a few times and things seem to really click. I am having a huge problem though. Every time after we go out I drop her off at her house I fail in being able to get a good night kiss. I mean we have only gone out like four times so far but it just seems very odd that a 23 yr. old girl is this conservative. Do you think it is that she does not like me or is she just playing hard to get. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Unkissed

Dear Unkissed,

If she really didn't like you she wouldn't continue to go out with you. She might just be really shy when it comes to physical intimacy. Since you like her and things "seem to really click" between you, I'd suggest you talk to her about your feelings. I know it's weird to have to ask why a girl doesn't want to kiss you, but what do you have to lose? You might say something like this: "I really enjoy spending time with you and I think you like me too. I'd like to continue going out together, but I've been feeling like you don't want me to kiss you and I'm wondering why."

This is not meant to embarrass her. Hopefully you will make it safe for her to respond honestly to your question.

Good luck and let me know what happens.

In friendship,

Terra
