Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Wish I had one:
“Should I tell him how I feel?”

Hey Terra,

I have a problem with getting a boyfriend. I like this kid but I'm not sure if I should make the first move or not. Should I tell him how I feel or not? And also if I should tell him how I feel in what way? Like a letter, over the phone, or internet?

Desperate

Dear Desperate,

If you believe you have to come right out and write this guy a letter (or whatever) to "tell him how you feel" otherwise he won't know, how well you two know each other in the first place? The reason I ask is that usually people spend time together, getting to know each other as friends before they jump into a bf/gf relationship. During the time when you're developing a friendship, it becomes clearer, that you and the guy like each other and treat each other with respect.

Here's my advice, don't pressure yourself to tell your crush how you feel so soon. Spend the time you need to get to know each other... building up trust and all the other things you need in a healthy relationship.

Otherwise, you'll find yourself with a boyfriend for a couple of weeks only. You'll be involved physically with him and then he'll leave as soon as you start feeling like "didn't I want more than this"?

In friendship,

Terra
