Wish I had one:
“Does she like me?”
Hey Terra,
I like this girl and I've gone up to her a couple of times now to talk, nothing serious just talk. She always seems happy when I do. She smiles a lot and seems to laugh at a lot of the things I say, but the thing is if I don't go up and talk to her she won't say a word to me not even "hi." She will just stand there and talk to other people instead or just stand there and say nothing. My question is does she like me? I haven't told her I liked her yet or even hinted with words but don't you think it's obvious? I'm confused. Help me. We are both 17 and she doesn't have a boyfriend if that helps.Does she or doesn't she?
Dear Does she or doesn't she?,
I do think it's obvious that you like her. It's also clear from her lack of initiative that she is a bit shy when it comes to guys. (Or, more specifically, when it comes to you!) This may be a good sign that she's afraid to make a mistake and scare you off.
What to do next? You should definitely continue doing what you're doing, because she definitely enjoys your company. Have you ever had an opportunity to go up and talk to her when she's alone? If you do, then you could take that opportunity to ask her for her phone number if you don't already have it and ask if it's all right for you to call her sometime. I'm assuming she'd be fine with that. Then call her and have a good conversation about things that are interesting to both of you. If you don't know what she's into, then this would be a good way to find out. You don't have to tell her that you like her. Just continue acting like you do. That message is clear. Give her a chance to get to know you as a friend without any added romantic pressures. And give yourself a chance to get to know her. (Phone conversations are really good at helping shy people open up because they don't have to worry about the way they look or how they are being judged.)
I hope this helps.
Keep in touch and let me know how it goes.
In friendship,
Terra
