Hey Terra,
Things are much better, I get a little more free time to spend with my friends and even hang out. Its not the time I asked for but anything is better than nothing, I just have to adapt to the many changes that are sure to come.Thanx Terra! I guess I was so upset and exhausted I couldn't think Calmly and just discuss it with them.
Exhausted
Dear Exhausted,
I'm really glad that things are much better for you at home. It's difficult when one is physically tired and emotionally fed up to think calmly and discuss anything! It sounds like you have figured out that in order to communicate effectively and work at making things better (in any relationship) it helps to take some time off... think about what you want and need (writing it down helps a lot!) and then having the conversation with the people who need to hear what you are feeling.
I'm proud of you!
Make sure you are responsible about keeping agreements with your parents about the "free time" you have with your friends. Show them that you are mature and that you can be trusted. If you call when they ask you to, and return home at the agreed to time, etc. then it is very likely that they will be open to giving you more and more free time.
In friendship,
Terra
