Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

“My mom is starting to hit me.”
(Continued)

Hey Terra,

I was living with my grandpa but I can't really talk to him about my problems. The only person I can talk to is my Aunt Maria and she helps me with everything. My mom is getting a counselor and she's getting help, but I'm still scared she might go off on me again. I'm trying to not get in trouble anymore.

Freakin' Out

Dear Freakin' Out,

I'm so glad that you can talk to your Aunt Maria and I'm glad that your mom is getting counseling to help herself. It's not good for you to live in fear or danger. You may want to talk to your Aunt Maria to see if you could stay with her (or your grandpa) while your mom is getting her life in order.

In friendship,

Terra
