Annie doing a workshop

NEW: Annie is also available for Skype classroom visits!

Annie’s warm personality, sense of humor, and highly interactive style make her an adult whom teens trust. Using real-world examples, she helps students understand that they cannot control what others do, say, think or feel. But tweens and teens can learn to make excellent choices regarding their own behavior.

Annie at a Teen WorkshopStress hijacks the brain only when we let it. When teens (and adults) take time to calm down and think things through, we’re less likely to do and say things that we’ll later regret. Thoughtful choice-making empowers young people to make positive changes at home, among friends, and at school. And isn’t that exactly what we want them to learn?

Annie offers customized student events. Her topics include:

  • Real Friends vs. The Other Kind (5th-8th grade) — Understanding what it takes to be a good friend is an essential part of growing up. So is recognizing the difference between real friends and the other kind. Friendship issues can cause serious problems in middle school. Annie offers tools that tweens eagerly adopt. Based on Book 2 (June 2009) of Annie’s Middle School Confidential™ series.
  • Be Confident in Who You Are (5th-8th grade)  — Worrying too much
Annie Fox is a gift to teens... A rare combination of sensitivity, humor and wisdom, Annie was able in a very short time to do that thing that we all wish we could do better: connect.

about what other people think? Maybe your students are suffering from Peer Approval Addiction (PAA). Annie helps them understand what’s going on so that they can kick the PAA habit and free themselves to be themselves. Based on Book 1 of Annie’s award-winning series Middle School Confidential™.
  • Too Stressed to Think? (6th-12th grade) — When stress has the “survival brain” on overdrive, what happens to the “thinking brain”? Tweens and teens (and their parents and teachers) can learn how to use the mind-body connection to stay cool and make smart choices when the pressure’s on. Based on Annie’s award-winning book, Too Stressed to Think? A teen guide to staying sane when life makes you CRAZY
  • The Boyfriend/Girlfriend Zone (9th-12 Annie at a middle school workshopgrade) — A healthy relationship (the only kind worth having) is a two-way street based on mutual respect, trust, honesty, open-communication and shared values. Based on Annie’s award-winning book The Teen Survival Guide to Dating and Relating, this event provides high school students with much-needed Relationship Smarts plus the tools to make a relationship work (and what to do when it doesn’t).
