Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

Losing interest:
“He's acting like he doesn't even want me around.”

Hey Terra,

My boyfriend broke up with me and we have been together for 10 months. He broke up with me because I yelled at him. At first he still wanted me to go to his baseball games and to his mom's house in the summer who lives in another state. When we use to go somewhere just as friends we would try to act like he would want me back and try to hug me and stuff. I asked if he wanted to get back together and he said yes but not yet. Now after a little while he is acting like he doesn't even want me around. How can I get him back???

Sad Girl

Dear Sad Girl,

If he is acting like he "doesn't even want you around" maybe he really doesn't. And if he doesn't want you around then why would you want to be with him? Sure would be cool if he wanted to be with you as much as you want to be with him, but you can't "get him" to feel the way you want him too. That's his choice. Free and clear. But you CAN choose to back off and look for someone who's not putting up a fight. You deserve to be with a guy who wants you, right? The sooner you accept the reality of this situation the sooner you will open your mind to new opportunities.

I hope this helps.

In friendship,

Terra
